The two-day symposium featured nationally recognized speakers who addressed current emergency management challenges and obstacles. The symposium maintained the mission of the Eastern Montgomery County Emergency Management Group through the theme of “One Mission – One Team, the Challenge Continues…
"One Mission – One Team, The Challenge Continues" addressed issues faced by all emergency responders from basic response to recovery. Emergency managers, first responders, hospitals, school districts and elected officials heard first hand from knowledgeable speakers. The symposium focused on lessons learned from recent incidents and the latest information on terrorism preparedness.
The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety secured a grant from the Department of Homeland Security through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) that was used to help underwrite EDITS 2005.
Topics and Speakers
The Eastern Montgomery County Emergency Management Group is a partnership between emergency management officials from 14 municipalities. Additional partners include the Willow Grove Naval Air Base, Abington Memorial Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital, Abington School District, the American Red Cross, PECO Energy, and McNeil Healthcare. The organization has made a commitment to work together on all emergency management issues and incidents.
